Stroke survivor who uses creating as a way to heal, and gain strength.

On October 26, 2020 at the age of 46, I suffered a massive stroke. With no medical explanation, other than possible Covid. I spent a few days in the ICU followed by a few more days in the hospital. I was transferred to a rehabilitation center where I had to learn how to stand, walk, eat, regain use of my right hand, and start the journey to retrain my brain.
Those first few weeks were extremely hard. It takes a toll on one’s mental health especially when you’re trying harder than ever to have a healthy mindset and working extremely hard to just wiggle a finger or move an arm or a leg. Family, friends and coworkers are what got me through those dark days. Having to rely on others was something that I was not used to.
I was hoping to be able to return to work. My doctor’s and my body have said otherwise. So I had to focus my energy on healing my mind, my body and soul. I’m doing what I have always loved and that is creating. I enjoy every type of crafting imaginable! I needed to find a way to be able to share that with others. Using this new platform I am able to do so. This has been a healing journey.
I hope you grow to love my “Stoke of Inspiration Studio”.
